Happy New Year!
I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. And it hit me- I don't feel sick. My head doesn't hurt. I have actual pajamas on and I can fully remember what went on a few hours before.
I love being sober.
I spent the evening at a party that included more children than adults. We pretended we were in Aruba and celebrated the new year at 10 pm, rather than midnight. There was punch and flavored water and lots and lots of chips and dips. When we counted down to midnight(10p) the kids all jumped on rolls and rolls of bubble wrap laid out on the ground to mimic the noise of fire works.
It was a fun fun time and I feel fabulous this morning. No guilt, shame, headache or despair.
Yes, I love being sober.
Happy New Year!

I feel the same way! However, we all have older kiddos and we stayed up till midnite. We had a pannini sandwich bar with lots of chips, veggies and dips and we played Apples to Apples and Catchphrase all nite - everyone had a great time and I, like you, love waking up fresh and ready to go and NOT hungover. Happy New Year babe!!!!
i was missing out on the fun last night. but not so much this morning....especially after calling a few friends that didn't feel so good!
Congratulations on your sobriety :)
My kids would have LOVED jumping on bubble wrap!
I'm only a few weeks sober but I've already thanked God more times than I can count for not being hungover.
What a wonderful post. I too love knowing when I wake up in the middle of the night I wont be hungover or sick to my stomach anymore :)
